Lois L. Rushing, 58, passed away at 10:20am on Sunday, December 25, 2011, at her residence. She was born on March 11, 1953, in St. Louis, Missouri the daughter of the late Edward F. and Hazel L. (Utley) Rushing. She married Clarence "Mike" Towsend and they later divorced and he survives in Alton. Other survivors include two daughters: Tracy Allmon of Ballwin, Missouri, Crystal Kennedy of Alton, four grandchildren: Ashton Culley, Jacob Allmon, Jason Hinson Jr., Aaliyah Jones, two sisters and brothers in law: Sandy and Jerry Duncan of Granite City, Teresa and Bob Gagliardo of Collinsville, two brothers and a sister in law: Scott and Jane Rushing of Indiana, and Edward Rushing of Granite City.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister: Carol Walker.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. In celebration of her life, memorial visitation will be from 11am to 1pm on Thursday, December 29, 2011, at Pitchford Funeral Home. Private inurnment will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey at a later date.
