Sharon T. Rau, 70, passed away 10:20pm on Sunday, July 17, 2011, at her residence. She was born on September 6, 1940, in Alton, Illinois the daughter of the late Joe and Mabel (Hine) Tuttle. She married Robert Rau on November 13, 1965, and he preceded her in death. Survivors include two sisters and a brother in law: Judy and Joe Hanfelder of Bethalto, Illinois, Penni Watters of Seaside, Oregon, one brother and sister in law: Robert "Dink" and Margie Tuttle of East Alton, Illinois and several nieces and nephews. 

She was formerly employed at United Air Filter Company in Charlotte, North Carolina as a secretary. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. 

In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Private inurnment will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. 

Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
