Clarice D. "Maizie" Moulton

Wood River: Clarice D. “Maizie” Moulton, 91, passed away at 4:05am on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at her daughter’s house in Bethalto. She was born on October 25, 1927, in Linton, Indiana, the daughter of the late Clarence and Fern (Tryon) Harrison. She married James Moulton on May 8, 1947, in Clay City, Indiana, and he preceded her in death on January 27, 2008. Survivors include two daughters and sons in law: Terri and Tom Thorp of Rosewood Heights, Kathryn and Gary VanJelgerhuis of Bethalto, a son and daughter in law: John and Michelle Moulton of Chesterfield, Illinois, nine grandchildren and their spouses: Kim and Denny Sheraka, Jeff Thorp, Jamie and Brandon Burge, Jarrod and Stephanie Walters, Jonathan Moulton, Jenna Moulton, Rich Wilson, Chris and Meaghan Wilson, Ryan and Kathy Wilson, nineteen great grandchildren: Jordan, Madisyn, Audrey, Hank, Charlie, AJ, Emma, Eli, Roanna, Alexis, Richie, Riley, Addison, Zaide, Zenn, Ryan, Jr., Matthew, Madelynn, Nathaniel, one great – great grandson: Connor Jr., two sisters and brothers in law: Judy and Richard Burger of Jasonville, Indiana, Joyce Hull of Terra Haute, Indiana, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Clarice was employed for twenty years at the Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville where she was the manager of the ticket office retiring in 1985. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Clarence “Eddy” Harrison and Jerry Harrison. In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 10am until time of funeral services at 12pm on Monday, December 17, 2018, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Gary VanJelgerhuis will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital or to SSM Hospice, 20 Junction Drive West, Unit 4, Glen Carbon, Illinois 62034, and will be accepted at the funeral home.
