Larry Summer, 74, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2019, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. Larry was born February 9, 1944, in Carlinville, Illinois, the son of the late Lawrence and Audrey (Bridges) Summer. He married Gloria Jean Smith on June 18, 1990, and she survives. Other survivors include his children: Joe Sanders and his wife: Megan, Barbie Sanders, Malinda Ginger and her husband: Nile, his grandchildren, Grace & Gregory Sanders, Amber Mendenhall, Cash & Colt Hubble, Kyle & Justin Ginger, Waylon Lobb, his great grandchildren, Matthew & MacKenzie Camfield and Greyson Hubble, two brothers and sisters in law: Kenneth and Linda Summer of Girard, William “Ralph” and Susie Summer of Williamsville, Missouri, two aunts: Lucille Thomas of Springfield, Jane Delay of Springfield, an uncle: Leroy Bridges of Carlinville, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family and friends. Larry was employed as a truck driver at Rovey Seed in Farmersville prior to his retirement. He will be greatly missed for his sense of humor and love for his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Bridget and a sister: Barbara Brown. Graveside services will be held at 11am on Saturday April 6, 2019, at Girard Cemetery.
