Ryan J. Epley, Active Duty Army Chief Warrant Officer 2, formerly of Arnold, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. He was currently stationed in California. Ryan was 25 years old, born on October 21, 1998, in Clarksville, Tennessee, the son of Jack and Ciaran (Sievers) Epley of Roxana. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters: Air Force SSgt. Chloe Heckman, Brianna Heckman and three brothers: Dakota Heckman, Cazic Epley, and Connor Epley as well as a nephew: Corvin LaRose, and a niece: Odessa LaRose, and many other extended family and friends.

Ryan was a brilliant Blackhawk Pilot in the United States Army. His passion was flying helicopters, and disc golf. Ryan was a kind soul that loved unconditionally. He made anyone he met feel welcome and comfortable. He was the life of a party and could make anyone laugh. Ryan was beyond his years in knowledge and compassion, he truly was a wonderful young man. He was a true Officer and a gentleman.

In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 3pm to 7pm on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River.

The funeral procession will leave Pitchford Funeral Home at 10:30am on Friday, December 1, 2023, and travel south on Route 111 towards South Roxana. The procession will turn left on Wagon Wheel Road and make another left on Cemetery Road. The procession will enter the cemetery via the north outer road.
