Addie Joann Gregory Crafton, 88, passed away at 9:58am on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, in Jerseyville. She was born on June 26, 1935, in Rosedale, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Leslie Scott and Hattie May (Alford) Gregory. Survivors include a son and daughter in law: Scott and Kelly Crafton of Brighton, two daughters and sons in law: Cindy and Mike Larson of Brighton, Mary Beth and Mike Johann of Hallsville, Missouri, her grandchildren: Nathan Rogers, Levi (Leslie) Rogers, Kyle (Emmily) Crafton, Kendall Crafton, Nikki (Brandon) Johann Baker, Ryan Johann, J.D. Crafton, Alyssa Hicks, four great grandchildren: Morgan Rogers, Evie Crafton, Penny Crafton, Lily Baker, one great - great – grandchild: Lynnon Fernandez, two sisters and a brother in law: June Gregory Brown of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Kathryn and Mike Gregory of Joliet, Illinois, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
Joann was employed for many years in the catalog pickup department at Sears Roebuck prior to working in the children’s department at Sears Roebuck at Jamestown Mall. An avid gardener, she was a member of the Mississippi Valley Garden Club. She was nominated multiple times for the Brighton Beautification Award. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Birthday Club and up until three years ago, she bowled three times a week.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister: Hilda, three brothers: Tite, Billie, and Freddie.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 10am until time of services at 12pm on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Heartland Baptist Church in Alton. Pastor Alex Melton will officiate. Burial will follow at Brighton Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Heartland Baptist Church and will be accepted at the services.
