Andrew Ralph Carlson, Sr.

Alton: Andrew Ralph Carlson, Sr., 73, passed away at 3:22pm on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis. He was born on September 15, 1944, in The Bronx, New York, the son of the late Emil and Julia (Hahn) Carlson. He married the former Mary Rogers on April 27, 1968, in Elmhurst, New York, and she survives. Other survivors include one son and daughter in law: Andrew and Jennifer Carlson, Jr. of Shrub Oak, New York, two daughters and sons in law: Colleen and Dan DeMaio of Mahawah, New Jersey, Liz and Eric Hoffman of Godfrey, six grandchildren: Heather Carlson, Matthew Hoffman, Abby Hoffman, Dylan DeMaio, Emma Hoffman, Caitlyn DeMaio, one sister: Julia Carlson of Redding, Pennsylvania, two brothers and sisters in law: Eddie and Murial Carlson of Herndon, Virginia, Emil and Beverly Carlson of Midlothian, Virginia, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Andrew attended Abundant Life Church in Alton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: Robert. In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. In celebration of his life, memorial services will be held at 11am on Monday, January 22, 2018, at Abundant Life in Alton. Pastor Roy Rhodes will officiate.
