Anna Lee Baker, 80, passed away at 12:19pm on Sunday, June 23, 2013, at her residence. She was born on August 21, 1932, in Ponca City, Oklahoma the daughter of the late Arthur and Edith (VanSlyke) Verge. She married Charles B. Baker on November 1, 1952, in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma and he survives. Other survivors include one daughter: Mary Ann Wilhite of Bethalto, three grandchildren and their spouses: Stacee Wilhite and her husband Jeff Lowe of San Rafael, California, Justin and Renea Wilhite of Bethalto, Stephanie and Tony Librera of St. Petersburg, Florida, three great grandchildren: Alexis Wilhite, Kayleigh Wilhite, Gabby Bartley, one sister and brother in law: Rolleen and Doyle Boling of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and one brother and sister in law: Bill and Nedra Verge of Union, Missouri. A homemaker, she formerly sold Avon products. She was a former den mother for the Cub Scouts. She formerly attended the Vaughn Hill Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by a son: Boyd Baker and a sister: Mary Lou Mueller. In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 11am until time of funeral services at 1pm on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association or to BJC Hospice.
