Anna J. Koeneman

Wood River: Anna J. Koeneman, 61, passed away at 11:56am on Sunday, November 17, 2019, at her residence. She was born on January 2, 1958, in Germany, the daughter of the late Johnny and Petronella (Sanstra) Thornton, Sr. She married Paul Koeneman, Jr. on August 18, 1980, and he preceded her in death in 2014. Survivors include a daughter: Petronella “Nelly” Koeneman of Cottage Hills, a son: Matthew Koeneman of Wood River, a brother and sister in law: Johnny and Beverly Thornton, Jr. of Troy, Illinois, her companion: Garry Push of Wood River, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. A homemaker, Anna enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother: Bobby Thornton. Cremation rites will be accorded. A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, November 25, 2019, at Faith Family Church of Illinois in Wood River. Memorials are suggested to the family.
