April Joann Donet

South Roxana:

April Joann Donet, 70, passed away at 4:10am on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. She was born on July 21, 1952, in Wood River, the daughter of the late Joseph L. and April D. (Hayes) Couch. She married Jack Donet on January 7, 1991, and he preceded her in death on July 16, 2006. She is survived by a daughter and son in law: Connie and Keith Nemeth of Granite City, a son: Mark Wallace of Alton, two grandchildren: Megan Donet (Chris Halbrook), Taylor (Brooke Voss) Nemeth, two great grandchildren: Adelynn Nemeth, Taylor (TJ) Nemeth, a sister: Shirley Carlisle of South Roxana, many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

April and her husband Jack were the former owners and operators of Thermal Windows Unlimited in Granite City. They also loved and owned race horses. She was a member of the Bethalto Church of God where she served on the funeral luncheon team. Through her life, she has been a room mother, involved in organizing school festivals, loved crafting, crocheting, and sewing. She has played a part in an Easter play. She was fun, and full of wonderment and joy. She loved Jesus, he was her strength through all times. She loved her family and faithfully held them in prayer.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother: Kenneth Couch, and a nephew Joseph Couch.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
