Wood River: Armin S. Rigsbey, 95, passed away at 10:06am on Thursday, February 14, 2019, at Alton Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 19, 1923, in Chesterfield, Illinois, the son of the late Davey Jo and Juanita “Nita” (Sanders) Rigsbey. He married Marrion Adamson – Kramer on May 24, 2003, in East Alton, and she survives. He married Kathleen Malone on March 15, 1946, in Rolla, Missouri, and she preceded him in death on March 1, 1999. Survivor include two sons: Dennis Rigsbey of Wood River, Dana Rigsbey of Wood River, a step son and his wife: Joseph and Kimberly Kramer of Alton, a step daughter and her husband: Theresa and Steven Sudbeck of Foristell, Missouri, a grandson: David Rigsbey, and three step grandchildren: Ryan Fairless and his wife: Holly, Jessika Fairless, and Matthew Kramer. Armin was formerly employed at the Hartford Tannery. He then went to work at Albrecht – Hamlin Chevrolet for thirty – two years where he was a mechanic. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served in World War II. He was a lifetime member of the Wood River VFW Post #2859. He was proud to be able to go on a Honor Flight. In addition to his parents and his first wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter in law: Leslie Rigsbey, a granddaughter: Lori Kay Rigsbey, and a brother: Cloyd “Jack” Rigsbey. In celebration of his life, graveside services will be held at 11:30am on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at Morrison Cemetery in Salem, Missouri. Memorials are suggested to the Honor Flight Network.
