Arthur Paul Moore

East Alton: Arthur Paul Moore, 80, passed away at 8pm on Sunday, November 1, 2015, at his residence. He was born on September 25, 1935, in Zalma, Missouri, the son of the late William Arthur and Florence (Price) Moore. He married the former Loretta Talley in May of 1996 in Edwardsville and she survives. Other survivors include one daughter and son in law: Wendy and Pat Howard of Brighton, two sons and a daughter in law: Joseph Anders of Alton, Danny and Karen Talley of Cottage Hills, several grandchildren, several great grandchildren, one brother and sister in law: Milford and Pat Moore of Dubuque, Iowa, and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. He was formerly employed at Laclede Steel for 30 years prior to his retirement in May of 1996. He was a member of the East Alton American Legion Post #794. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter: Rochelle Moore, five sisters: Margie, Wanda, Winnie, Hazel, Mildred, three brothers: Lester, Willard, and Wayne. In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 10am until time of funeral services at 12pm on Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto with full military rites by the Ritual Team of VFW Post 1308 of Alton. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
