Barbara Lawson

Alton:

Barbara Lawson, 73, passed away at 9:50am on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at her residence with her family by her side. She was born on July 6, 1951, in Alton, the daughter of the late Manuel and Roberta (Forbes) Smith. She married Michael Lawson on December 22, 2000, in Niles, Michigan, and he survives. Other survivors include two daughters: Christine Russell of Alton, Madelyn Lawson of Alton, her grandchildren: Brady (Ashley) Lewis, Andrew Heil, Kandice Heil, Jayden Carter, Jimi Lewis, Jr., two great grandchildren, her sisters: Sharon Smith of East Alton, Sue (Mike) Peacher of Alabama, Denise (Chris) Moore of Alabama, Billie James of Springfield, Illinois, Mary Schaaf of Cottage Hills, Dennis Smith of Alabama, Douglas Smith of South Carolina, Danny Smith of Cottage Hills, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Barb held various positions at Beverly Farm Foundation in Godfrey where she worked for twenty – five years. She loved ghost hunting and genealogy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son: Jimi Lewis, Sr. and a brother: David Smith.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
