Barbara Z. Peterson

Bethalto: Barbara Z. Peterson, 82, passed away at 10:59am on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at her residence. She was born on September 23, 1937, in Alton, the daughter of the late Henry and Shirley Irene Zimmermann. She married Thomas “Tom” Peterson on May 30, 1997, in Edwardsville, and he survives. Other survivors include three step – daughters: Kristie Peterson of San Diego, California, Lori Peterson of South Deerfield, Massachusetts, Cherie Peterson of Uxbridge, Massachusetts, a step – granddaughter, one sister: Madge of Boulder, Colorado, and many other extended family and friends. Barbara was formerly employed as a teacher at Roxana Community School District #1 where she taught Jr. High French, English, and History. She then went to work at The Telegraph where she was the copy editor and she retired after twenty – seven years as a library tech at SIU-E. In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
