Bertha Weigel

East Alton: Bertha B. Weigel, 73, passed away at 7:55pm on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at her residence. She was born on July 2, 1941, in Alton, the daughter of the late Bernard and Bertha (Turner) Wright. Survivors include one daughter: Judith Wright of East Alton, one son: Philip Wright of East Alton, one granddaughter: Rainie Wright of East Alton, five sisters and two brothers in law: Phyllis Mir of Godfrey, Marsha and Carl Seidler of Godfrey, Cathy Boucher of Godfrey, Barbara Wright of Alton, Carol and Robert Brown of Bethalto, three brothers and two sisters in law: Frank and Donna Wright of Bethalto, Walter Wright of Alton, Mike and Laura Wright of Decatur. A homemaker, she enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Mary and Christine, and three brothers: Johnny, Charlie, and David. In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. In celebration of her life, memorial services will be held at 4pm on Monday, April 6, 2015, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Memorials are suggested to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
