Betty A. O'Neal

Betty A. O'Neal, 78, passed away at 9:05pm on Sunday, October 13, 2013, at Alton Nursing and Rehab. She was born on March 19, 1935, in Eddyville, Illinois the daughter of the late Lewis and Lora (Twichell) Hoke. She married Billy Joe O'Neal on May 2, 1952, in Rosiclare, Illinois and he survives. Other survivors include two daughters and a son in law: Paula O'Neal of Wood River, Debra and Bob Bushnell of New Braunfels, Texas, one son: Timothy O'Neal of Edwardsville, eight grandchildren: Laura Childs and her husband: Duane, Daniele Frymire and her husband: Pat, Wyatt Flatt, Kyle Dyer and his wife: Kelly, Mark Dyer, Megan O'Neal, Amber O'Neal, Brenden O'Neal, five great grandchildren: Madyson, Spencer, Dennis, Macy, Rylee, one sister: Orpha Robinson of Elizabethtown, Illinois, one brother: Gaylon Hoke of Herod, Illinois, several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. A homemaker, she enjoyed sewing. She was a member of the former St. Kevin's Parish in Rosewood Heights, where was a volunteer at the St. Kevin's School. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister: Alice Ruth Clardy. In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
