Betty J. Cardwell, 94, passed away at 7:20pm on Monday, July 29, 2024, at her residence. She was born on March 13, 1930, in East Alton, the daughter of the late Alvis L. and Viola E. (Craigmiles) Lovell. Survivors include her daughters: Tammy Crump of Jerseyville, Paula Cardwell of Roxana, five grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, eleven great – great grandchildren, a sister: Beatrice Monroe of Alton, a brother: Donald Lovell of Alton, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

Betty worked in the home health field.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter: Diane Cardwell, a sister: Carol Brinkman and a brother: Russell Lovell.

In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Private inurnment will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.

Memorials are suggested to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
