Alton:
Brenda K. Tanner, 55, passed away at 11:35pm on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at LaBella of Edwardsville. She was born on November 21, 1970, in Alton, Illinois, the daughter of Barbara (Janssen) Coyle of Edwardsville, and the late Albert Coyle. Survivors include a daughter who loved her dearly: Tiffany Tanner of Granite City, two sisters and a brother in law: Pam Coyle of South Roxana, Debra (Bruce) Pilger of Osceola, three brothers and a sister in law: Clay and Peggy Coyle of Abilene, Wayne Coyle of Wood River, Melvin Coyle of Cottage Hills, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. She was a devoted cat mommy to Keekers, and very proud Gigi to Gabby and Eden.
Brenda was formerly employed at the service desk in the automotive department at Glen Carbon WalMart. One of her favorite parts of the job was getting to interact everyday with her customers and coworkers alike. She truly loved meeting new people and hearing people’s life stories. Brenda was a member of Vaughn Hill Church of Christ. She took pride in her relationship with Christ and enjoyed spending time at church and with her family and friends. She also had a deep love for animals.
In addition to her dad, she was preceded in death by her lifelong friends, who were very important to her: Carol and Ronnie, as well as her beloved dog, Preston, and hamster, Trixie.
A celebration of Brenda’s life will be held from 10:30am-11:30am on October 24, 2026, at the Vaughn Hill Church of Christ. Brian Magnuson will officiate.
