Brian Wayne Berry

Wood River: Brian Wayne Berry, 39, passed away at 5:20am on Monday, December 19, 2016, in the emergency room at Alton Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 16, 1977, in Alton, the son of Richard W. Berry of Wood River and Dola (Hatcher) Berry of Wood River. He married the former Tara Hawkins on July 7, 2007, in Alton, and she survives. Other survivors include one daughter: Madison Berry of Alton, one sister and brother in law: Corrie and Nort Becker of Edwardsville, one brother and sister in law: Matt and Jamie Berry of Wood River, his nieces: Elise Berry, Edie Berry, Morgan Gray, Sidney Becker, his nephews: Gavin Springer, Dillon Springer, his father in law and mother in law: Garry and Lela Hawkins of Hartford, a sister in law and brother in law: Kenny and Kelly Springer of Edwardsville, and many other extended family and friends. Brian was employed by the Madison County Highway Department as a chauffeur. An avid Cubs fan, he was a loyal friend to many and never knew a stranger and even in death gave the gift of life to strangers through organ donation. He loved music and going to concerts. In celebration of his life, memorial visitation will be from 3pm to 8pm on Thursday, December 22, 2016, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Memorials are suggested to the family in honor of Dillon and make checks payable to Tara Berry and they will be accepted at the funeral home.
