Carl Bond

Carl Bond, 92, passed away at 5:50pm on Monday, September 30, 2024, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville with his family by his side. He was born on November 3, 1931, in East Alton, the son of the late Clarence and Susie (Silkwood) Bond. He married the former Pauline Polk on June 21, 1953, in California, and she preceded him in death on December 18, 2022. Survivors include his daughter and her husband: Kathy and James Jarman of Rosewood Heights and their crew: Jason (Missy) Eggebrecht, Sheri (bonus Mike Metzler) Eggebrecht, Kevin (Kristina) Eggebrecht, his daughter and her husband: Carla and Art Baranowski of Florissant, Missouri and their crew Tara Howarth, Michael Baranowski, six great grandchildren: Emma, Lyla, AJ, Ben, Autumn, Ethan, special family: Debbie and Jeff Lister of Rosewood Heights and their crew: Ryan (Sara) Lister and their children: Claire, Andrew, Vera, Emma, Grace, Lindsey (Andrew) Barton, a bonus daughter: Jo-Anne (Pat) Golden, his bonus family at Stillwater, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends


Carl was employed at Boeing in St. Louis as a pipefitter and later was a supervisor prior to his retirement. Carl was an avid fisherman, golfer, and carpenter. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Wood River. He was a veteran of the United Stated Navy and served on the USS Boxer. Carl was dedicated to his family and his friends. He lived at Stillwater Senior Living in Edwardsville for the last three years.


In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister: Nancy Bond.


In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 9am until time of services at 10:30am on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Walter McCaslin will officiate. Private burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.


Memorials are suggested to the 1st Christian Church in Wood River and will be accepted at the funeral home.
