Carol L. Hyman

Bethalto: Carol Hyman, 68, passed away at 4:50pm on Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at Christian Hospital Northeast. She was born on October 4, 1946, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, the daughter of the late Daniel and Nettie (Peters) Hardesty. She married James R. Hyman on October 4, 1964, and he preceded her in death on October 13, 2011. Survivors include two sons and daughters in law: James “Casey” and Vicki Hyman of Alton, Illinois and John and Brenda Hyman of Fidelity, Illinois, one sister: Betty Ralston of Fosterburg, a niece: Connie Emmons of East Alton, a nephew: Darren Ralston of Fosterburg, five grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. A homemaker, she loved shopping at Goodwill and playing bingo. In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 1pm to 3pm on Saturday, October 18, 2014, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Saturday, October 18, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Memorials may be given to the Salvation Army Alton Corps.
