Carole Jones

Roxana: Carole Jones, 67, passed away at 5:12am on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at OSF St. Anthony’s Hospital in Alton. She was born on June 19, 1954, in East St. Louis, Illinois, the daughter of the late Roy and Madge (Seagraves) Stinekraus. She married Mark Stephen Jones in January of 1995 and he preceded her in death in 2012. Survivors include three grandchildren, a sister and brother in law: Vickie and Larry Wood of Dorsey, her nieces: Cassy (Pat) Kelly, Deena Fisher, her nephew: Joseph Wood, great nieces: Mallory Kelly, Katie Jo Wood, great nephews: Brandon “Boo” Kelly, Jake Wood, her aunt: Polly Kay Smay and her husband: David of Kane, Illinois, many cousins, and extended family and friends. A beautician, Carole was a member of Open Door Fellowship Church in Alton where she sang in the choir and had a beautiful voice. She loved the Lord, chocolate, her shoes, animals, shopping, and family fish fry’s. Carole also enjoyed shopping and going to yard sales with her sister. She was very funny and had a sense of humor that would quit. She was preceded in death by her mom and step – dad: Madge and James Fisher, a son: Matthew Mowry, and a brother: James Michael Fisher. Cremation rites will be accorded. Memorials are suggested to the family.
