Carolyn Rader

Carolyn Rader, 85, passed away at 8:20am on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at her residence. She was born on April 11, 1939, Connersville, Indiana, the daughter of the late John and Frances (Balsam) VanHart. She married Don Rader and he preceded her in death on June 14, 1994. Survivors include four daughters: Dee Dee McNeil of Edwardsville, Deborah Lantz of Edwardsville, Denise Rader of Moro, and Connie Stone, a son: Don Rader of East Alton, one granddaughter: Misty Veschak, a sister: Betty Fields of Liberty, Indiana, a brother and sister in law: John and Linda VanHart of Connersville, Indiana, sister in law MaryAnn VanHart of Buckeye, Arizona, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by a sister Sylvia Poe and a brother David VanHart

Carolyn was formerly employed at Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville in the police department and at the School of Nursing. She was a member of Bethalto Presbyterian Church.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
