Carrol Carr

August 31, 1931 — December 5, 2020

Wood River: Carrol Carr, 89, passed away at 5pm on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at Bria of Belleville. He was born on August 31, 1931, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of the late Loren and Martha (Bilderback) Carr. He married the former Sally Clark on August 15, 1956, in Carbondale, and she survives. Other survivors include three daughters and a son in law: Mary Clausen of Wood River, Sarah Carr of Wood River, Margy and Joe Clark of Caseyville, one son and daughter in law: Kevin and Tammy Carr of Bethalto, seven grandchildren: Robbie Clausen, Jenna Clausen – Voorhees, Jaclyn Carr and her husband: Shawn Brodie, James Carr, Patrick Kennedy, Kathryn Held, Eric Held, and many other extended family and friends. Carrol was employed at Sverdrup Corporation in St. Louis. He was a Korean War veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of Holy Angels Parish. He was formerly on the Wood River Storm Water Commission. He was a former member of the Jaycees. He enjoyed tennis, and was an avid Cardinal baseball fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Patrick Wayne Carr, a brother: Norman Carr, a sister: Melba Willman, and a son-in-law: Mark Clausen. Cremation rites will be accorded. In celebration, a small celebration of life will be held at Holy Angels Parish in Wood River, IL on December 16, 2020 at 11:00am. Father Donald Wolford will be the celebrant.
