Alton: Casandra J. Selders, 33, passed away at 7:06pm on Friday, October 16, 2020. She was born on July 6, 1987, in Alton, the daughter of Vincent and Constance (Cummings) Selders. Survivors include her dad and bonus mom: Vince and Debbie Selders of Arnold, Missouri, her mom and step – dad: Constance and Damon Strait of Wood River, her daughter: Jocelyn Byrd of Godfrey, her sister: Nikki Goodbrake of Wood River, her brothers and sisters in law: Jason and Lisa Selders of Lakemore, Illinois, Brian and Julie Selders of Wauconda, Illinois, Jason and Winsome Kelly of Ogden, Maryland, Robert and Stacy Kelly of Roxana, Jonathan and Krystal Drummond of Hazel, Kentucky, her grandparents: Frank and Virginia Cummings of Flippin, Arkansas, Donald Doerr of Fenton, Missouri, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Cassie was baptized at the Flippin Church of God in Flippin, Arkansas. Cassie was humble and her beautiful heart will always be a testament to her faith. She was a child of God and shall rest in His arms. Fly high, angel! She loved her daughter very much and often said Jocelyn was her “mini-me”. Cassie’s sense of humor was always a blast and resulted in many a belly laugh. She was skillful with crafts and loved to create. Dream catchers to refinishing a chair, or just some artsy project - she certainly had a knack. She had just been accepted to Ranken Tech and had been looking forward to becoming an electrician. Cassie was preceded in death by a sister: Heather Rawie and her grandparents: Harry and Jeanne Selders and Patricia Doerr. Family and friends will meet for a private memorial to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family are suggested, which would be used for the care and wellbeing of her daughter Jocelyn.
