Chance M. Shewmake

East Alton: Chance M. Shewmake, 5, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017, in Bethalto. He was born on April 15, 2012, in Alton, the son of Mathew Shewmake of East Alton and Brandi Jones of East Alton. Other survivors include his maternal grandparents: William Jones of Godfrey, Carol Jones of East Alton, his paternal grandparents: Mark and Vicky Shewmake of East Alton, his maternal great – grandma: Dorothy Cook of East Alton, his paternal great – grandma: Mary Warren of East Alton, three uncles, two aunts, and many other extended family and friends. Chance was in Kindergarten at Eastwood Elementary in East Alton. He loved to play, loved any type of bug, and dinosaurs. He was preceded in death by his maternal great – grandpa: Thomas Cook and his paternal great – grandpa: Jerry Warren. In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 10am until time of funeral services at 12pm on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family in care of Carol Jones or Vicky Shewmake and will be accepted at the funeral home.
