Norwalk, California Charles William Rose, 95, passed away at 5:25pm on Friday, February 17, 2017, in Norwalk, California. He was born on June 4, 1921, in Alton, the son of the late Homer and Cornelia (Jones) Rose. Survivors include a brother in law: Buford Henry of Alton, two nieces and their spouses: Cheryl and Greg Johnson of Godfrey, Beth and Alan Herbstreit of Godfrey, a nephew and his wife: David and Kris Henry of Godfrey, a special cousin: June Ottwell, twelve great nieces and nephews: Steve B. Henry, Jr., Amber Henry, Jaycee (Solomon) Tsfazgie, Aaron Henry, Megan Henry, Brad Henry, Nick (Jayme) Herbstreit, Sam Herbstreit, Thomas (Beth) Richards, Andrew (Megan) Johnson, Amanda (Andy) Irwin, Adam Johnson, and seven great – great nieces and nephews. Charles was formerly employed as a driver for Servico. He owned and operated bars in Los Angeles, California. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister: Marie Henry, a brother: Donald, an infant brother: Benjamin, and a nephew: Steven Henry, Sr. In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Graveside services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at Upper Alton Cemetery.
