Rosewood Heights: Dale A. Leady, 79, passed away at 11:01pm on Thursday, June 9, 2016, at Christian Northeast Hospital. He was born on December 23, 1936, in Alton, the son of the late Austin C. and Ruth A. (Schulte) Leady. He married the former Lois Lakin on January 25, 1964, in Shobonier, Illinois, and she survives. Other survivors include two daughters and sons in law: Monica and Pete Baum of Alton, Leslie and Derrick Palmer of Bethalto, seven grandchildren: Tiffany, Heidi, Eric, Sammie, Christopher, Makenna, Kaylee, one sister: Carol Russell of Bethalto, two brothers and a sister in law: Larmer “Bud” and Louise Leady of Millington, Tennessee, Don Leady of Tucker, Georgia, and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Dale was formerly employed at Shell Oil Company as a boilermaker for 33 years prior to his retirement. A previous member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Rosewood Heights, he is now a member at Wanda United Methodist Church. A very good artist, he was a talented oil painter. He loved to shoot guns at the Olin Range with his fellow co - workers from Shell Oil. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Richelle and his brother in law: Gordon Russell. In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. In celebration of his life, memorial visitation will be from 11am until time of memorial services at 1pm on Monday, June 13, 2016, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Pastor Gary Mosimann will officiate. Private inurnment will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Wanda United Methodist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
