Daniel A. Brooks

Cottage Hills: Daniel R. Brooks, 55, passed away at 6:40am on Saturday, August 23, 2014, at his residence. He was born on March 20, 1959, in Wood River, the son of Lila (Ballard) Brooks of Cottage Hills and the late Donald Brooks. In addition his mother in Cottage Hills, other survivors include one sister and brother in law: Heather and Joseph Mielke of Cottage Hills, a niece: Amber Mielke of Cottage Hills, and his step mother: Eileen Brooks of Alton. He was formerly employed at Fabrication Specialists in Alton. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Alton. He enjoyed flying remote control helicopters. He loved tinkering with things and building things. 6pm In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a niece: Megan L. Mielke. In celebration of his life, memorial visitation will be from 6pm until time of memorial services at 7pm on Friday, August 29, 2014, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
