Danny Mitts

Cottage Hills: Danny Mitts, 64, passed away at 9:40pm on Thursday, February 19, 2015, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. He was born on May 11, 1950, in Swifton, Arkansas, the son of the late Lesley and Lucy (Jones) Mitts. He married the former Shannon Fuhr and they later divorced and she survives. Other survivors include one sister: Barbara Guiney of Cottage Hills, a niece and her husband: Tammy and Daniel Meneses of Alton, a nephew and his wife: Wade and Kobe Rives of Edwardsville, and six great nieces and nephews. He was formerly employed as a supervisor for Mead Packaging in Godfrey. He also was a supervisor at Vijon. He enjoyed rv’ing, rock hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a member of the Midwest Federation of Mineralogical and Geological Societies and of the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by many aunts, uncles, and other extended family. In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
