Danny "Fuzzy" Schafer

West Alton, Missouri: Danny “Fuzzy” Schafer, 57, passed away at 9:35pm on Sunday, December 31, 2017, at Christian Northeast Hospital. He was born on July 2, 1960, in Alton, the son of the late Willis and Verda (Gant) Schafer. He married the former Catherine Sinningson on August 10, 1994, in Dumas, Arkansas, and she preceded him in death on February 21, 2017. Survivors include a daughter: Destiny, a son: Cory, three step children: Travis, Jeremy, Jamie, three grandchildren, six step – grandchildren, two brothers and sisters in law: James and Pat Schafer of Eastland, Texas, Eddie and Sandy Schafer of Portage Des Sioux, Missouri, one sister: Donna Dillard and her companion: Dwayne Sinningson of West Alton, Missouri, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Dan was formerly employed at Luhr Brothers for over twenty years. Dan enjoyed four – wheeling with friends, hunting, and riding motorcycles. He enjoyed spending time with his family and being a part of his nephew’s BBQ Team. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Glenna Jones, Wilma Springer, two brothers: Wayne Schafer and Donald Schafer. In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. In celebration of his life, memorial visitation will be from 10am until time of memorial services at 11am on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at St. Francis of Assisi Memorial Hall on 2nd Street in Portage Des Sioux, Missouri 63373. A time of reflection will follow until 2pm in the fellowship hall. Memorials are suggested to the family.
