David Watts

Cottage Hills:

David L. Watts, 73, passed away at 4:14pm on Monday, March 3, 2025, at OSF St. Anthony’s Hospital in Alton. He was born on August 8, 1951, in Fieldon, Illinois, the son of the late Ruben and Lillian (Conrad) Watts. He married the former Linda (Walden) Walter on August 7, 2019, in Cottage Hills, and she survives. Other survivors include a step daughter and her husband: Cathy and Kevin Wright of Bethalto, two step sons: Roger (Andrea Boda) Bartee of Wood River, Ronald (Candace McCormick) Bartee of East Alton, six step grandchildren, four step great grandchildren, two sisters and brother in law: Viola and Wayne Cox, Ilene Summers, two brother and sisters in law: William and Teresa Watts, James and Veva Watts, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

David was employed through the Laborer’s Local 218 for over thirty years. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, and tinkering in the garage.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and sister in law: Carmen and Dorothy Breeden and a sister and brother in law: Delores and Dave Wieneke.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
