David W. West, 59, passed away peacefully at 11:58am on Monday, August 28, 2023, at his daughter's residence after a long battle with cancer. He was born on October 3, 1963 in Wood River. Dave was employed at Cope Plastics in Alton for over twenty years and was co-owner of Westco Lawn Care. He loved fishing, hunting, darts, throwing bags and washers, cooking and gambling. Dave was always the life of the party and enjoyed hosting any type of gathering (and serving his famous moonshine). After his diagnosis, he spent the last three years enjoying his retirement, playing video games, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert. His beloved dog and best friend, Tucker preceded him in death by one month.
