Debra Kay Shampine, 58, of Bethalto, Illinois passed away at V.I.P. Manor in Wood River at 10:57 a.m. on Monday, September 23, 2013 with her family at her side. She was born April 27, 1955 in Wood River, a daughter of the late Loyd Willis and Reva Selestine (Parton) Warren. She worked at Wal-Mart in Wood River with many years of dedicated service as a pharmacy tech. She enjoyed crocheting and loved animals and cherished her boxer, Lady Bug. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends. She is survived and will dearly be missed by her two beloved sons, Matthew James Shampine and Tyler "T.J." Shampine and his girlfriend, Tiffany Noel; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Jerry Overton of South Roxana and Brenda and Otto Nurnberger of Brighton; two brothers and sister-in-law, Floyd and Linda Warren of Alton and Kevin Warren and Laura Peterson of Collinsville; other extended family and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Amanda Michelle Shampine. In celebration of her life, a memorial visitation will be held at Pitchford Funeral Home, 2555 Vaughn Road (Rt. 111) in Wood River on Friday, September 27, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. followed by a private family service with friend and Pastor Ray Robinson officiating. Private family burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Memorials may be made to the Alton 5A's animal shelter and may be accepted at the funeral home.
