Bethalto: Donald E. “Don” Wilson, 77, passed away at 10:30pm on Monday, December 17, 2018, at his residence. He was born on October 20, 1941, in Alton, the son of the late Jordan and Maude (Blair) Wilson. He married Janet Norris on May 14, 1966, in East Alton, and she survives. Other survivors include a son and daughter in law: Craig and Michelle Wilson of Arnold, Missouri, four grandchildren: Christian, Morgan, Canaan, Mikayla “Gracie”, a daughter in law: Julie Jensen – Wilson of Charlotte, North Carolina, two sisters and a brother in law: Kathy Perkins of Bethalto, Linda and Vince Bechtold of Wood River, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Don was formerly employed for over thirty years at Crown Cork and Seal in St. Louis where he was a maintainer. He was a member of Johnson Road Baptist Church in Granite City. He enjoyed watching his sons and spending time with his family. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal and St. Louis Rams fan. He was a veteran of the United States Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved son: Todd Wilson. In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 4pm to 7pm on Thursday, December 20, 2018, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Friday, December 21, 2018, at the funeral home. Pastor Larry Blankley will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto with full military rites by the Ritual Team of VFW Post 1308 of Alton. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or to Johnson Road Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
