Doris E. Carney

Doris E. Carney, 74, passed away at 4:09pm on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at St. Louis University Hospital. She was born on August 3, 1938, in St. Louis, Missouri the daughter of the late Carter and Mildred (Sanders) Carney. Survivors include her cousins and their spouses: Margaret and Mike Dougherty of Collinsville, Roger and Jenna Sanders of St. Clair, Missouri, Mark and Aggie Sanders of St. Clair, Missouri, Lisa Crawford of St. Clair, Missouri, Robert and Krista Wilson of Mooresville, Indiana, Gerald Buckley of Salisbury, Indiana, Margie Carney of St. Louis, Missouri. She was formerly employed for the Bunker Hill School District where she was a teacher for over 30 years. She was a member of Emmanuel Free Methodist Church. In celebration of his life, memorial visitation will be from 1pm until time of memorial services at 3pm on Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Rev. Mark Scandrett will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Memorials are suggested to Emmanuel Free Methodist Church, 3993 Fosterburg Road, Alton, Illinois 62002 or the American Cancer Society Relay for Life Riverbend.
