Alton: Dorothy Mae Lievers, 73, passed away at 12:04am on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Rosewood Care Center in Alton. She was born on August 17, 1942, in Alton, the daughter of the late William J. and Mae A. (Patsink) Denother. She married Harley “Gene” Lievers on November 27, 1964, in Alton, and he preceded her in death on July 25, 1971. Survivors include one daughter and son in law: Julie and Mike Hurst of Alton, one son and daughter in law: Jeff and Stephanie Lievers of Godfrey, one granddaughter: Evie Mae Lievers, two step – granddaughters: Shannon Neal, Sara Brinkman, one step great – great granddaughter: Tegan Neal, three brothers and sisters in law: Bill and Judy Denother of Alton, Robert and Sue Denother of Alton, Richard and Rene Denother of Alton. A nanny and caregiver, she loved to talk, read, and loved animals. In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 9am until time of funeral services at 10am on Friday, May 13, 2016, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Pastor Tom Olney will officiate. Burial will follow at Fosterburg Cemetery in Fosterburg. Memorials are suggested to 5A’s or to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
