Edna R. James

Godfrey: Edna R. James, 82, passed away at 7:35am on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at her residence. She was born on June 14, 1936, in West Plains, Missouri, the daughter of the late Edgar B. and Mary E. (Roberts) James. Survivors include one daughter: Mary Helen Harris of Godfrey, one son and daughter in law: Herbert and Bridget Condray of Maryville, four grandchildren: Tabitha Graham and her husband: Anthony, Sarah Concepcion and her husband: Andrew, Caitlyn Condray, Colleen Condray, and one great granddaughter: Eleanor Graham. Edna was formerly employed at Roxana High School for over thirty years and was the Sweet 16 coach until her retirement. She was a fifty year member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Bethalto. She enjoyed boating, fishing, reading, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. In celebration of her life memorial visitation will be from 1pm until time Eastern Star services at 3:15pm on Sunday, September 23, 2018, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. A time of reflection will immediately follow the Eastern Star services. Memorials are suggested to the Order of the Eastern Star in Bethalto and will be accepted at the funeral home.
