Edward Drach, Sr.

Wood River: Edward Drach, Sr., 91, passed away at 12:18pm on Tuesday, April 14, 2020, at his residence. He was born on March 9, 1929, in East St. Louis, the son of the late Edward S. and Goldie C. (Tremble) Drach. Survivors include a son and daughter in law: Edward and Tracy Drach, Jr. of Wood River, three step sons and their spouses: Henry and Jane Johnson of Wood River, Danny and Karen Johnson of South Roxana, Gary Johnson, nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Edward was employed as a security guard at the Wood River Township Hospital prior to his retirement in 1991. He then worked as a contracted security guard for the Illinois Department of Transportation. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. In celebration of his life, private graveside services will be held at Upper Alton Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to OSF St. Anthony’s Hospice.
