Erma Cooperider

Wood River: Erma Cooperider, 91, passed away at 10:18pm on Sunday, May 24, 2015, at Rosewood Care Center in Alton. She was born on March 16, 1924, in Pleasant Hill, Illinois, the daughter of the late Andrew and Bertha (Cloninger) Wintjen. Survivors include one son: Gary Cooperider of Wood River, two granddaughters: Erica Riedisser and her husband: Jason of Rosewood Heights, Morgan Cooperider of St. Louis, two great grandsons: Ethan Riedisser, Cooper Rider Riedisser, one sister: Dene Lopez of Alton, one brother: Gene Wintjen of Carrolton, Illinois, and nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and other extended family. She was formerly employed at Olin Corp. as a machine operator for 36 years prior to her retirement. She was a former member of the First United Methodist Church of East Alton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter in law: Debbie Cooperider, and one sister: Laverne Iler. In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30am on Thursday, May 28, 2015, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Burial will follow at Noble Cemetery in Otterville, Illinois. Memorials are suggested to BJC Hospice.
