Erna L. Roach, 91, passed away at 9:18am on Monday, November 16, 2015, at her residence. She was born on July 19, 1924, in Hermann, Missouri, the daughter of the late Louis R. and Martha L. (Rath) Brunner. She married Howard Roach in 1952 and he preceded her in death on October 16, 1968. Survivors include one daughter and son in law: Cindy and Steve Winiecki of Bethalto, three grandchildren: Angela Koszyk and her husband: Dave of Plainfield, Illinois, Dan Winiecki of Bethalto, Jennifer Winiecki of Bethalto, three great grandchildren: Sean Koszyk, Austin Koszyk, Emma Jo Winiecki, one brother and sister in law: Charles and Betty Brunner of Hermann, Missouri, and a sister in law: Winnie Brunner of North Carolina.

She was formerly employed at Waggner Electric as an inspector for starter generators for aircraft during World War II. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Hermann, Missouri.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter: Pamela Roach, two sisters: Dorothy Egan, Martha Moushey, and one brother: Robert Brunner.

In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 4pm until time of funeral services at 7pm on Thursday, November 19, 2015, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Graveside services will be held at 11am on Friday, November 20, 2015, at Oak Haven Memorial Gardens in Hermann, Missouri.

Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor’s choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
