Esther E. Lachner

East Alton: Esther E. Lachner, 67, passed away at 11:42am on Friday, September 11, 2015, at Alton Memorial Hospital. She was born on March 15, 1948, in Alton, Illinois the daughter of the late Michael and Violet (McCann) Kopsie. She married Louis R. Lachner on April 17, 1979, in Rosewood Heights, and he survives. Other survivors include one daughter and son in law: Tammy and Scott Franklin of East Alton, two sons and daughters in law: Tim and Stacy Boyer of East Alton, Rodney and Melissa Boyer of Alton, six grandchildren and their spouses: Neil and Kayla Boyer, Paige and Ruben Sanchez, Jessica Boyer, Alli Franklin, Alek Boyer, Justin Franklin, one great grandchild: Kaden, four step – children and their spouses: Ricky and Kim Lachner of Bunker Hill, Bobby and Sheila Lachner of Georgia, Tommy and April Lachner of Florida, Barb and Rick Carpenter of Granite City, ten step – grandchildren: Elizabeth, Sarah, Lance, Celeste, Brandi, Becki, Melissa, Heather, Ashley, and Natasha. She was employed by Target for 25 years where she worked in several capacities prior to her retirement in 2005. She then worked in social services at the Salvation Army in Alton where she was a member. She loved her family more than anything. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers: Earl, Michael, Kenny, Ronnie, Karl, Jim, and Richard. In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 5pm to 8pm on Monday, September 14, 2015, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River where funeral services will be held at 11am on Tuesday. Lt. Bryan and Teri Ellison will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Memorials are suggested to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
