Eugene T. Koprivica

Eugene T. Koprivica, 93 passed away at 3:05 A.M. Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Christian Northeast Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri. He was born on November 4, 1920, in St. Louis he was the son of the late Thomas and Ethel (Crews) Koprivica. He married the former Marcella Russell on July 18, 1942, in Kirkwood, Missouri, and she survives. Other survivors include one daughter and son-in-law; Susan and Raymond Sheeran of Madison, Wisconsin, two sons and daughters-in-law; Eugene K. and Carol Koprivica of Wood River, Illinois, and George T. and Lorene Koprivica of East Alton, Illinois, eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, a brother and sister in law; Preston and Iris Koprivica of Lake St. Louis, Missouri and another sister in law; Mary Koprivica of Kingdom City, Missouri. A United States Army Air Corp Veteran of World War II he was an electrotyper for 16 years. He distributed the St. Louis Globe Democrat and the Post Dispatch in the Alton, East Alton and Rosewood Heights area for 20 years. He was a member of the Piasa Lodge No. 27 and a Mason for 67 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Paul Koprivica. In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 10 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Kirkwood, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
