Alton: Eva Sue Snyder, 71, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 6am on Friday, November 18, 2016, at Rosewood Care Center in Alton with her family by her side. She was born on July 15, 1945, in Charleston, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Woodrow W. and Nancy A. (Wright) Martin, Sr. She married Cecil P. Snyder on May 29, 1964, in West Virginia and he preceded her in death on November 15, 2011. Survivors include a daughter and son in law: Stephanie and Jeff Lievers of Godfrey, two sons and a daughter in law: Wayne and Kaye Snyder of Wood River, Matt Snyder of Springfield, Missouri, three grandchildren: Evie Lievers, Emily Auten, Seth Auten, and a brother and sister in law: Woodrow and Delores Martin, Jr. of Tennessee. Eva was formerly employed at Owens – Illinois Glass Works where she worked in various capacities. She loved singing with her family at the church. She always provided encouragement to others and was a shining light for Christ. She loved her family, friends, and making crafts. In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 3pm to 7pm on Monday, November 21, 2016, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at the funeral home. Pastor Dannie Tackett will officiate. Burial will follow at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana. Memorials are suggested to the family or to the church and will be accepted at the funeral home. . She loved singing with her family at the church. She always provided encouragement to others and was a shining light for Christ. She loved her family, friends, and making crafts.
