Wood River: Gayle S. Menge, 67, passed away at 7:05pm on Monday, November 13, 2017, at Robings Manor in Brighton. She was born on February 17, 1950, in Portsmouth, Virginia, the daughter of the late Roy and Gladys Marie (Nichols) McClellan. She married Jack Menge on November 19, 1977, in East Alton, and he survives. Other survivors include two daughters: Debra Millender of St. Louis, Jaclyn Menge of St. Louis, three grandchildren: Darius McCants and his fiancé: Victoria, Geramy Millender, Kaleb Myers, two great – grandchildren: Jeffrey Marshall, Kara McCants, two sisters and a brother in law: Roylene and Bob Cole of Connecticut, Kathy Schenato of High Ridge, Missouri, one brother and sister in law: Jay and Kim McClellan of Wood River, a sister in law: Marilyn Law of Wood River, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Gayle was formerly employed at GSA for several years as a contractor. She was a member of the Dream Weavers Motorcycle Club and she enjoyed playing online backgammon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother: Mike McClellan. In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. In celebration of her life, memorial visitation will be from 5pm to 8pm on Thursday, November 16, 2017, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life Riverbend.
