George Thomas Hendon was born June 11, 1954, in Davenport, Florida, to Patricia and Raymond Hendon. He was raised in Libertyville, Illinois, with his five siblings. He married the love of his life, Janice Ellen Fisher-Hendon on January 10, 1981. They had one child, Elizabeth Hendon-Simpkins (Joe). They lived in Lake Villa, Illinois for most of his life, then moved to Athelstane, Wisconsin to be near his sisters.

He worked as a mechanic for many years in Lake Villa and the surrounding communities and continued to work on cars up North. His favorite hobbies included working on cars, hunting and fishing and spending time with his daughter Elizabeth and grandson, Camdyn Simpkins. He loved to spend time in the woods outside, especially with his beloved dogs, Nova and Arya. He loved his friends and having great conversations with them.

He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth, his sisters, Sharon Grammentz (Charles) and family, Linda Laurence-Walsh (Sean) and family and Camille Naud (Frederick) and family and several nieces and nephews.

He will be sorely missed by those left behind but we are grateful he is finally at peace and in God's presence.
