George Warren Lackey Iii

East Alton: George Warren Lackey III, 50, passed away at 8:15pm on Friday, February 9, 2018, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 7, 1967, in Wichita Falls, Texas, the son of Joy (McNabb) Lackey of Gardner, Massachusetts, and the late George Warren lackey, Jr. In addition to his mom, survivors include one daughter: Emily Marie Lackey of Bethalto, his fiancé of fourteen years: Teri Malson of East Alton, two step – sons: Jason Imel and his wife: Whitney of East Alton, Billy Mundy of East Alton, a grandson: Skyler Dailey, one sister: Marie Lackey of Gardner, Massachusetts, three brothers: Jerry Lackey of Gardner, Massachusetts, Theodore Lackey and his fiance’: Heather of Barre, Massachusetts, Dennis Lackey and his fiance’: Angel of Indiana. A 1987 graduate on Monty Tech High School in Fitchburg, Massachusetts where he learned the electrical trade, George went on to be an electrician for twenty – five years in the Local #852 in Corinth, Mississippi. He loved music, loved to attend KISS concerts, enjoyed bowling, and having backyard BBQ’s. He attended Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandfather: George Nay Lackey, and his grandma: Shirley Nay. In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 3pm until time of funeral services at 6pm on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Pastor Kale Hanson will officiate. Following the funeral services and in accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
