Roxana: Holly Meyer, 44, passed away at 3:15pm on Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at her residence with her family by her side. She was born on September 8, 1973, in Alton, the daughter of Mary (Ottwell) Wilson of Roxana and the late Scott Wilson. She married Roger Meyer on February 10, 1996, in Alton, and he survives. Other survivors include two daughters: Kara Meyer of Roxana, Krysta Meyer of Roxana, three sisters: Tina Wilson of Roxana, Gina Palozzola of Cottage Hills, Crystal Smith of Bowling Green, Missouri, one brother: Jason Wilson of St. Louis, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Holly was a beautiful soul who touched the hearts of everyone she encountered. She was highly involved with the Roxana community and wanted to be involved in her daughters Kara and Krysta’s lives as much as possible. Holly was and still is madly in love with her husband Roger Meyer. She was well known for her Christmas candy trays and her vivacious and resilient personality. You will never meet a woman just like Holly. She fought a long hard 7 years and went down kicking and screaming just how she said she would. Holly by her own definition was a domestic Goddess. Holly was a member of the PTA at Roxana Schools, she was a member of the Booster Club, and the Roxana Schools Foundation. In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. In celebration of her life, memorial visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Celebration of life services will be held at 1:30pm on Sunday, December 3, 2017, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Kara and Krysta’s education fund with checks payable to Roger Meyer.
