Jacob Basham

Bethalto: Jacob Basham, 22, passed away at 6:11pm on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at his residence. He was born on January 7, 1993, in Alton, the son of Scott Basham and Susan Schuetz. Survivors include his mother: Susan Schuetz and her companion: Ed Howard II of Alton, his father and step – mom: Scott and Michelle Basham of Cottage Hills, one sister: Megan Basham of Bethalto, one brother: Aaron Basham of Bethalto, his paternal grandparents: Peggy Beckham of Bethalto, Warren and Tammy Beckham of Bethalto, many aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. A 2013 graduate of Civic Memorial High School, Jacob was attending Lewis and Clark Community College in Godfrey. He was currently employed at the Boys and Girls Club of Bethalto. He also worked at Monday’s Maid. He loved track and field, running, and his nieces and nephews. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Georgia and Jim Basham and Russell and Edna Schuetz. In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 3pm to 8pm on Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at Cornerstone Church in Bethalto. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at the church. Pastor Erik Scottberg will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family.
