James "Jim" Roberts

James E. “Jim” Roberts, 61, passed away at 9:20am on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Anderson Hospital. He was born on April 28, 1963, in East St. Louis, Illinois, the son of the late Robert E. and Majorie “Margie” (Berner) Roberts. He married the former Anna Dennis on August 28, 2009, in Edwardsville, and she survives. Other survivors include two daughters and sons in law: Amber and Tom Silk of West Alton, Missouri, Ashley and Reid Lovett of Alton, a son: Andrew Roberts of Texas, three step children: Becky and Jerry Affeldt of Madison, Illinois, Kristin Welch and her fiancé: Joe Aldridge of Granite City, Jeramie Dennis of Denver, Colorado, fourteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a sister and brother in law: Pam and Michael Vroman of Godfrey, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

Jim was employed as a mechanic for Jim’s Mobile Mechanic for twenty years prior to going to work at Bowers Towing in Godfrey as a mechanic. Jim was a very talented, skilled carpenter, and master craftsman who loved to help the community.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Jimmy Pohlman, two brothers: Mike, John, and a sister: Debbie Flanagan.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to the family to help with funeral expenses.
